How does it work?

By making a property and financial affairs Lasting Power of Attorney, you give another person (your attorney) authority to make decisions about your business on your behalf.

That means they can look after essential business matters like accessing bank accounts, paying employees or suppliers, and renewing insurance premiums in your absence.

What happens if you don’t make one?

If you don’t have an LPA for your business, and you’re no longer able to look after your business affairs, it may be necessary for an application to be made to the Court of Protection for an order appointing someone else to act on your behalf. This can be expensive and time consuming.
